Organization Matters

Ready to start fresh this year? Need to get rid of some of the clutter in your home? 422 Storage has tips and easy solutions for organization. It’s nice to come home and kick your feet up and not knock over piles of papers or fresh laundry. Here at 422 Storage we know organization matters and we want to help you with these easy tips below to keep your home as efficient as possible!Organization

Office Space:

  • Get rid of old papers. Go through your files at least once a month to cycle out old bills and junk files.
  • Use a drawer divider to keep your supplies at the ready. If your objects are buried under a mountain of office supplies you will spend more time searching for your favorite note pad then working.
  • Bulletin boards should be the command center of your desk. This is great for reminders, things to do, and bills that need paid.
  • At the end of everyday put items back in their homes and start the next day refreshed and ready to go!

Kitchen:

  • A tilt out trash can is a great use of space and will help keep the unwanted kitchen smells away. The top can also be converted into a cutting board; this will make prepping meals much easier!
  • The side of the fridge is a great spot for spices. Add a magnet to the lid of a small jar and attach it to your fridge. Keeps your spices organized and readily available.
  • The kitchen is the best place for the family calendar, notes and the menu.
  • Low on counter space? Keep an over the sink cutting board to help extend your counter and be close to the washing station.

Bedroom:

  • Pick an organization plan when hanging your clothes. Which ever system you choose, color coded, by style or by occasion make sure you stick to it.
  • Hang with a plan. Keep all pants together, all t-shirts together. Get rid of any t-shirts with stains or holes.
  • If you store your seasonal wardrobe under the bed or in the attic make sure to label what is in each box.
  • Regulate your closet. Discard clothing that has not been worn in over 3 months.

Living Room:

  • Under the coach storage is useful for blankets and a sofa skirt can easily hide any bins.
  • After flipping through magazines, take them directly to the recycling bin. No reason to keep old magazines.
  • Make it a habit to clean as you go. If you notice something that should be in the bedroom grab it as you head back that way.
  • Place a coat rack, key bin, and mail organizer right by the door. This way you can unload the items in your hands as soon as you come home.

422 Storage knows how hectic life can get, and if your searching for everyday items it can be even more frustrating. We want you to have the skills and tips to tackle your New Year’s organization tasks.
